Publishing my first ever novel – ‘When Love Meets Lust’

Over the past two years I have been secretly beavering away at a project that I wasn’t sure whether I would ever finish or even have the confidence to share with the wide world.

Yet, here I am sitting at my desk staring at a paperback with my name on it…my name on my first ever published novel. I still occasionally have to pinch myself that this is real and that yes, I have actually published my first ever novel. It has been quite a journey to get to this stage and there have been many ups and downs but it has been worth it just to see my book in print.

The joy of self-publishing and channels such as KDP, Create Space and Ingram Spark (I hope to write further posts for this blog about my experiences with these channels) have assisted me in getting this book out here and taking it further than just a vanity project.

The world of self-publishing is vast, which at first can be a little bit intimidating but as soon as you scratch the surface you discover that there are lots of friendly people in the self-publishing world who are more than willing to share their advice as to how they have published their books. There are also some brilliant self-published authors and books who totally knock the socks off some books who are published the traditional way which just goes to show that as long as you have a good story to tell it doesn’t matter what avenue you go down.

Before I drift further into the virtues of self-publishing, it is probably best to show off my marketing skills (😉) and tell you about the book I have published! The novel is called ‘When Love Meets Lust’ and is a romantic comedy involving two main characters called Ruby and Ryan, who through meeting online end up on a string of hilarious dates together. Yet despite the fun they have together, they both have differing views on relationships which may just drive them apart…

To find out more about the story and to read a few pages of the first chapter, please follow this link:

If you are interested in buying the book, it is available in all major countries via Amazon in both e-book and paperback format. There is currently a special offer available where if you buy the paperback you can purchase the ebook for free.

I had such fun writing from both the perspective of Ruby and Ryan, so if you do decide to read it, I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.

Okay, I think it is time to end this blog post now and start writing my 2nd novel!! (Although I also hope to write a bit more about my self-publishing adventure on this blog, so stay tuned!)

Blog soon Stephanie x
